Creative blocks are the worst! They always come at the moments when you need 101 ideas ASAP but your brain can't even push out 1 idea. Then there are those nights when you're trying to sleep for an early start but you become Da Vinci with ideas pulsating all over your head.
So to keep my mind active and achieve balance between the two extremes I decided to setup a little challenge for myself weekly (or when I have a spare moment). The idea is simple enough, create an invitation suite based on inspiration pictures that I find. I've just finished my first one and I had so much fun doing it!
I hope you enjoy my series and may it help with your creative blocks too!
The inspiration: the blues, purples and organic lines
My interpreted design:
Happy new year to you all! I hope you've had a wonderful holiday season!
My year started with leaving the city for a few days to visit the coast and rainforests of Victoria. It was nice to get in touch with nature and be surrounded by untouched natural beauty. Back in the city I took a stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens to find some floral inspiration and was not disappointed!
2016 Christmas Cards
Thank you to all who purchased Christmas cards and helped our fundraising for Forever Friends Animal Rescue. We contributed $150.00 from the part proceeds which gave some furry friends a happy Christmas! The awesome volunteers from the organisation extend their utmost gratitude and thanks to you. If you are looking for a forever fluffy friend please remember to check out the animals that are currently with FFAR and you could save a life.
Wedding Stationery Suite Packages
There are currently two packages available for wedding invitations - Simple and Fancy. I've made these packages to suit different requirements.
The simple package contains the main invitation and RSVP without all the additional cards. These can be customised i.e. have magnets on the back or placed in pocket folds.
For those who like to have textured paper and additional cards in the suite, the fancy package is tailored for that.
All invitation sets will be outsourced and printed by professionals so you can be assured that they will look fantastic!
Other Invitations or Stationery
Apart from wedding stationery I can also design stationery for other events. Lately I've had requests for baby announcement cards and baby shower invitations. So if you've got an occasion that requires stationery please don't hesitate to ask me!
A big part of what I do here is to create designs that are a bit quirky. The concept of Design really has no limits and imagination can take you everywhere. I love showing clients ideas that would never have crossed their minds.
So for a bit of fun and also a challenge I will be starting a series of invitation designs that I base from a picture. Whether it is the colours, patterns or subject matter, I will challenge myself to create designs that are inspired from photos. I will post these on Instagram as well as here on the blog.
I hope this will also provide inspiration for you.
