This was the first destination wedding that I designed invitations for. The wedding was held at a luxury resort by the ocean in Koh Samui, Thailand.
The chosen colour scheme of the wedding was neutral browns, navy and grey to reflect a chilled beach vibe.
The wedding was set amidst a multitude of beautiful tropical greenery, wooden decking and the blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand. White decorations and floral arrangements contrasted perfectly with these elements.
The direction I took for this invitation was classy and refined with a hint of casual. The typography was used to reflect the former and the textures of the materials for the latter. I decided against using shimmer paper stock and instead went for a textured weave paper stock. I felt that with this being a beach wedding, the textured paper was more fitting to the occasion.
The invitation was enclosed in a kraft brown pocketfold finished with a grey paper band and sapphire blue ribbon. I added a recycled-card tag with the names of the bride and groom with the wedding date onto the ribbon to add some charm and personality.
